The gateau house
A qualified food engineer, having recently left his job in Korea working in the R&D department of the World Famous Bakery, Brian brought his love and passion for all things cake related to our shores in the hopes of producing the finest cakes & gateaux in New Zealand.
Fast forward two decades later and the Gateau House can be found in seven stores throughout the Auckland region with over 600 cakes baked each day and employing over 30 production staff with no signs of slowing down soon.
But what is it about the Gateau House that makes our cakes so special? Is it the unrelenting desire to reach perfection in every single bite or is it our expertly trained team of master bakers and decorators, dedicated to producing nothing short of a visually stunning?
A combination of both says Founder, Brian.
“It’s all about the pursuit of using only the finest quality ingredients. We use only fresh cream with no preservatives, the best chocolates from Belgium and seasonal fruit sourced as locally as possible. We will never cut a single corner when it comes to the quality of an ingredient and every cake is crafted by hand”
Part of the ethos of the Gateau House is to also give back to the community so you can feel great knowing that with every purchase you make we’ll use a portion of that purchase to support local events and charities.
We believe in making an impact beyond the customers who walk in our doors. We want to make a difference in the lives of all New Zealanders.
We recently supported Farmers in their Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand event, donated funds to bring alive the South East Asian Festival and were recognised as a key sponsor in the Sky TV Special Children’s Parties hosted for children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses, physical and intellectual impairment and domestic violence.
If you want to find out more about the Gateau House, whether it’s people or our products, come and see us in-store where it all began on Dominion Road or any one of our stores around Auckland.
We’ll be sure to leave a tasty impression!”
